Our walk to Placa
Camoes where our guided walk begins, is much easier than the climb
last night. The guide, Fraga is energetic and enthusiastic for the
entire three and a quarter hour walk. Still haven't worked out if it was the steep steps or the guide that tired me out. We see many tiled buildings and
learn about historical figures and events, including the destructive
1755 earthquake and tsunami. The journey travels along the enormously
wide Tagus river before heading up hill and steep steps into the
Alfama region. It’s a long slow walk back through the heart of
Lisbon to our apartment.
