


It takes a while,
but I manage to carry all the bags down the three flights of stairs.
Must say that it is a little easier than carrying then upwards. We roll the bags past the funicular to the metro and then on to Oriente train station, where we catch the train to Porto. The fast train meanders through multiple towns at a maximum speed of 222kph. After a three hour journey we arrive at Campanha station and work our way outside to the metro station. The stations and trains are quite new and really show up what is available in Lisbon. Our accommodation is on the 4
th floor and fortunately the building has an elevator. Our host
has even left us some afternoon tea.
Later we wander downhill, past the
Cathedral and across the Don Luis bridge, with the Douro River a
long, long way below.
