18 June 2019 Hong Kong

On the walk to Hong Kong Park we pass a memorial of a hundred metres or so to a protester who died during the demonstration. The park is a green space surrounded by high rise buildings and we even find an aviary. There’s a heavy shower and we are forced to take shelter in an observatory until it passes. On the way back from the park we travel down four sets of escalators and through an adjoining shopping centre. We check out of the hotel and wander a short distance to the A11 bus stop. After only a few minutes wait, the bus arrives and we enjoy the journey back to the airport, from the top of the double decker. A Starbucks snack at the airport uses some of our Hong Kong dollars and we then wander about waiting for our Qantas flight.
