17 June 2019 Hong Kong

Another wonderful hotel provided breakfast, pity I have to go into debt to pay for it. A little more metro and then a steep walk up to the 1840’s built Man Ho Temple. To get an idea of how steep the journey is, one of the paths is named Ladder St. After visiting the smokey incense filled temple we continue up hill to the Sun Yat Sen Museum which is full of photos, costumes and stories. In the afternoon we travel to Kowloon for another walking tour. This one focuses on housing issues in and around Mongok, and how people are forced to live because of this. We also visit a bird market and interact with one of the parrots. We are then told that avian flu was first discovered close by. Later on it’s dinner, drinks and vaccinations at our local.
